Other Simpsons Artwork
In addition to cels, there are several other types of show related artwork available to own.

Production Drawings
Production Drawings
Simpsons production drawings are line drawings created during the first stage of producing a cel. These drawings often feature notes and guides written alongside to help animators create a cel set-up. It is common for production drawings to be framed along with their matching finished cel set-up. Even though the show has abandoned cel animation, production drawings are still used today when creating an episode using a digital system.

Master Backgrounds
Master Backgrounds
Simpsons master backgrounds are original all hand painted backgrounds that were used during filming. It is rare to see a true master background framed within a cel set-up. Cel set-ups usually come with an authentic reproduction background while masters are sold separately.

Storyboards
Storyboards
Simpsons storyboards are a series of sketches, similar to a comic strip, which outline the action and dialogue in a scene. These key drawings are the earliest stage of an episode's animation and are used as a visual reference throughout production. Storyboards are still used today in the initial stages of creating an episode using a digital system.

Giclees (pronounced j'clay)
Giclees (pronounced j'clay)
Simpsons giclees are the latest in reproduction animation art. Giclee is a french word which means 'spray of ink'. These pieces of artwork showcase an amazingly high resolution with more than four million droplets of ink per second sprayed on canvas. Images appear lush and velvety with the luminosity feel of a strikingly rich watercolour.
